Check Point SASE Overview

Cloud-managed SASE platform combining Zero Trust private access, hybrid internet security, SaaS security, and SD-WAN.

Check Point SASE, previously branded Harmony SASE, combines Zero Trust Network Access, hybrid Internet Access, SaaS Security, Firewall-as-a-Service capabilities, and SD-WAN. Its Internet Access model can combine on-device enforcement with cloud-delivered controls, while Private Access uses Check Point’s global private backbone for access to organizational resources.

Check Point SASE Plans

Check Point presents SASE as a modular platform spanning Private Access, Internet Access, SaaS Security, and SD-WAN. Public product pages direct organizations to request a demo or contact Check Point for commercial terms rather than listing standardized per-user prices.

What is Check Point SASE?

Check Point SASE is Check Point’s cloud-managed SASE platform and incorporates technology from its acquisition of Perimeter 81. Private Access provides full-mesh Zero Trust connectivity for users, sites, cloud environments, and data centers, while other modules cover internet access, SaaS security, and SD-WAN.

For Internet Access, Check Point uses a hybrid model that can enforce controls on the endpoint and through cloud services. This allows direct-to-internet traffic for supported workflows while retaining centrally managed security policy. Private Access separately uses a global private backbone with more than 85 points of presence.

Operational Fit

  • Enterprises needing a full SASE stack from a single security vendor
  • Organizations already using Check Point Quantum firewalls looking to extend to SASE
  • Distributed workforces requiring both remote user access and branch office SD-WAN
  • Teams needing agentless access for contractors and BYOD devices
  • Organizations evaluating SASE alongside Check Point's broader threat-prevention and network-security stack
  • Organizations that need documented security and compliance controls alongside remote-access policy

Documented Strengths

  • Hybrid Internet Access combines on-device enforcement with cloud-delivered controls
  • Full-mesh any-to-any connectivity — users, sites, clouds, and data centers
  • Check Point cites a 99% block rate in Miercom’s 2025 Enterprise and Hybrid Mesh Firewall testing
  • Agentless ZTNA for contractors and BYOD — no client required for application-level access
  • SD-WAN with auto-optimized routing for 10,000+ applications and sub-second failover
  • Unified console for all security and networking policies

Considerations

  • No public pricing — all plans require contacting sales for a custom quote
  • The platform spans multiple access, security, SaaS, and SD-WAN functions, increasing configuration scope compared with ZTNA-only products
  • Organizations needing only private application access may not require the broader Internet Access, SaaS Security, and SD-WAN scope
  • Capabilities and posture checks vary by operating system, access method, and SASE component

Base Layer Evaluation Notes

Access Model

Full-mesh private access with agent-based and agentless workflows. Private Access can connect users and sites to applications and network resources across cloud and on-premises environments. Browser-based access supports selected application access for unmanaged devices without exposing the wider network.

Network Architecture

Cloud-managed SASE with a private backbone and hybrid internet inspection. Private Access uses more than 85 global points of presence. Internet Access can combine endpoint enforcement with cloud controls, while SD-WAN extends connectivity and routing to branch environments.

Identity & Policy

Identity, resource, and device-context policy. Private Access supports identity-provider integration, application-level rules, network segmentation, device posture, logging, and SIEM integration. Posture capabilities differ across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Platform & Deployment

Endpoint, browser, site, and branch deployment options. SASE agents are available across major desktop and mobile platforms, with browser-based access for supported unmanaged-device workflows. Broader deployments can combine Private Access with Check Point firewalls and SD-WAN.

Core Capabilities

Private Access (ZTNA)

Full-mesh Zero Trust Network Access for users, sites, and resources across cloud and on-premise environments. Supports both agent-based and agentless (clientless) access — allowing contractors and BYOD users to reach specific applications without installing a client.

Getting started →

Internet Access (SWG)

Hybrid Secure Web Gateway that inspects internet traffic both on-device and in the cloud. Malware protection runs locally via the SASE agent for low-latency enforcement, while cloud-side DNS filtering and web categorization policies apply globally without backhauling traffic.

Admin guide →

SD-WAN

Integrates with Check Point Quantum SD-WAN to optimize branch office connectivity. Auto-steers traffic across 10,000+ applications with sub-second failover, WAN optimization, and seamless integration with existing on-premise infrastructure for hybrid network deployments.

Quantum SD-WAN →

Device Posture

Device Posture Check evaluates configured endpoint requirements before and during private-access sessions. Supported checks include endpoint-security status, files and processes, with additional checks such as firewall status, OS version, disk encryption, certificates, and registry values available on specific operating systems. Failed posture requirements can block private access.
